BBVA, Cesce Finance Tosyalı’s Solar Project to Support Green Steel Transition

BBVA said the project will help decarbonize Tosyalı by supporting its energy transition. The financing, structured as an export finance buyer credit facility, will allow them to construct both plants and add about 261 MW of installed capacity. In total, Tosyalı hopes to reach 1.4 GW of renewable self-generation capacity.

“Our solar power plant investments, which we are implementing with this vision and which will reach a total capacity of 1.4 GW, is not only investments aimed at meeting our own energy needs from renewable sources, but also a strategic transformation initiative that strengthens our energy independence and reinforces our global ambition in green steel production,” said Fuat Tosyalı, chairman of Tosyalı Holding.

The companies said GE Vernova Spain will act as equipment supplier while Inogen will be EPC contractor.
