BlueScope Steel Begins Production on ANDRITZ-Supplied Continuous Galvanizing Line
10/14/2026 - ANDRITZ announced the continuous galvanizing line it supplied to BlueScope Steel in Sydney, Australia, has produced its first galvanized coil.
BlueScope Steel said the new line will produce galvanized steel strip for building, construction, manufacturing and industrial applications. It can process steel strip with widths up to 1,325 mm and thicknesses from 0.30 to 1 mm at speeds up to 160 m per minute. They estimate a capacity of 240,000 metric tons annually.
ANDRITZ said that it supplied process equipment, automation systems and electrical equipment. It also provided engineering, commissioning and start-up services. Technologies include a skinpass mill, tension leveler, coaters, a direct-fired furnace and electric radiant tube heating.
