BM Group Receives Order for Slag Monitoring Solution
09/02/2020 - Italian stainless producer Acciai Speciali Terni has ordered a slag monitoring system from BM Group’s Polytec robotics unit, the technology supplier reports.
According to BM Group, the camera-based system will provide real-time monitoring of slag during the argon-oxygen decarburization tapping phase.
“The camera will communicate in real time … the percentage of slag present in the flow during tapping. If the percentage exceeds a pre-defined threshold value, the solution will generate an alarm to inform the operator,” the company said.
