Capsol Technologies Awarded Carbon Capture Study for European Metal Production Plant
09/19/2025 - Carbon capture technology provider Capsol Technologies has been awarded an engineering study evaluating the use of CapsolEoP® (end of pipe) at a European metal production plant.
CapsolEoP offers large-scale CO2 capture with low energy consumption and without the need for external stream. The company said the project could potentially capture several hundred thousand metric tons of CO2 annually.
"This study, together with the recent studies announced for refinery and lime, demonstrates that our technology can be attractive for several more hard-to-abate industries,” said Cato Christiansen, chief technology officer at Capsol Technologies.
The company said carbon capture is expected to play a critical role in the steel industry’s decarbonization due to growing demand for low-CO2 materials and stricter emission regulations across Europe.
