Carpenter Powder Products Raises
HSS and Tool Steel Prices

Feb. 11, 2004 — Carpenter Powder Products Inc., a subsidiary of Carpenter Technology Corp., will increase transactional prices on its high speed and tool steels by 5% for orders booked as of Feb. 16. Raw material surcharges will remain in effect.

The planned price increase reflects continued increases in raw material, energy and other consumable costs.

Carpenter Powder Products Inc., based in Bridgeville, Pa., is a leading global manufacturer of gas atomized specialty metal powders and consolidated powder metallurgy products. Carpenter Technology, based in Wyomissing, Pa., is leading manufacturer and distributor of specialty alloys and engineered products.
