CB&I Issues Pink Slips as SunCoke Energy Contract Expires
02/21/2017 - Contractor CB&I is laying off 149 employees at the SunCoke Energy coke plant in Indiana, reports The Times newspaper of northwest Indiana.
According to the newspaper, a contract between SucCoke and CB&I is expiring 1 March and is not being renewed.
The newspaper said SunCoke has a long-term deal with ArcelorMittal to supply coke to its integrated mills in East Chicago, Ind., USA, through 2023. SunCoke declined to comment on whether it had replaced CB&I with a new contractor or was now doing the work in-house, the newspaper said.
