Celsa Signs Off on Wire Rod Mill Improvement
11/06/2025 - Celsa France has issued the final acceptance certificate on upgrades to its wire rod mill in Bayonne, reports project contractor Primetals Technologies.
According to Primetals Technologies, the upgrade entailed replacement of the finishing block and reform station.
The new block features a 10-stand Morgan Vee No-Twist mill capable of running at 105 m/second. The reformer station improvement included a new tub, which minimizes coil height, eliminates stray rings and reduces delays in downstream processing, Primetals Technologies said.
