The companies said the EAF features 100% scrap charging and a 30-minute tap-to-tap time; it can tap 100 metric tons of liquid steel. Without the use of scrap buckets, there will be a more stable melting process, reduced wear and improved productivity. 

Danieli said it has delivered 31 Zerobucket EAFs in China since 2018, either in operation or approaching start-up. Changling said the machine will improve energy efficiency, lower operational costs and enhance environmental performance.
