Chinese steelmaker Chengdu Plate Co., a subsidiary of the Pangang Group based in Sichuan province, announced that it has developed production of 2.3 x 1250 mm hot-dip galvanized (HDG) plate.

Market research indicates China is mainly dependent on imports of HDG products with thicknesses of 2.1mm and above. In order to meet domestic demand for such thicknesses, Chengdu Plate Co. developed production of 2.1mm HDG plate in April of this year. The company produced its first batches of the product on June 12.
