Chinese Pipe Producer Commissions Largest Mandrel Mill in the World
11/23/2012 - After a construction period of around two years, Jiangsu Tianhuai Steel Pipe from Jiangsu Province in Eastern China recently commissioned a new 20" PQF® tube mill supplied by SMS Meer for seamless tubes.
After a construction period of around two years, Jiangsu Tianhuai Steel Pipe from Jiangsu Province, Eastern China, recently commissioned a new 20" PQF® tube mill supplied by SMS Meer, Germany, for seamless quality steel tubes and rolled the first tube.
The new PQF® mill is the biggest mandrel mill in the world and can produce seamless tubes with diameters up to 508 mm. The plant has a production capacity of 500,000 tpy.
Tianhuai is a joint venture between the state-owned Tianjin Pipe Group Corporation (TPCO) and Huaigang Special Steel, a subsidiary of the Eastern Chinese Shagang Group.
