Chinese Plant Fires Up New ESR Furnace
01/28/2019 - China’s Nantian Tool Steel has produced the first ingot on a new eight-ton electroslag remelting (ESR) furnace, according to the equipment supplier.
In a statement, INTECO said the successful start-up reinforces its position in China’s remelting market.
INTECO also is building a 16-ton ESR furnace for the family-owned company. The furnaces employ static molds and single electrodes. The company said it expects hot commissioning of the 16-ton furnace to occur soon.
