CMC Expands Downstream Construction Reinforcement Business
03/21/2023 - Commercial Metals Company (CMC) has acquired Georgia-based post-tensioning contractor Tendon Systems LLC for an undisclosed amount, the company has said.
According to CMC, Tendon Systems serves the post-tensioning, barrier cable, and concrete restoration solutions markets in the southeastern U.S. Its products are used in multi-family residential, parking structures, industrial and high-rise buildings, and it posted approximately US$60 million in revenue last year.
"This acquisition further advances our leadership position in construction reinforcement, complements our existing position in post-tensioning cable, and provides CMC with additional capabilities to serve our customers," said CMC chairman and chief executive Barbara R. Smith. "Tendon adds valuable expertise, innovative products, and a trusted reputation to the CMC portfolio."
