Danieli Breda to Provide Two New Steel Extrusion Lines

The companies said they turned to Danieli to address the increasing demand for stainless steel and corrosion resistance alloy (CRA) pipes for oil and gas, chemical, food processing and automotive applications.

Zhejiang Jiuli ordered a new 20-meganewton steel extraction plant to produce seamless stainless steel pipes with diameters between 33 to 68 mm and wall thicknesses from 3 to 8 mm. This order is in addition to those for a 35-meganewton steel extrusion press and the upgrade to 42-meganewtons.

Stella Metal & Tubes ordered a 20-meganewton steel extrusion plant for its Gujarat site. Its seamless stainless steel pipes’ diameters will range from 33 to 68 mm with wall thicknesses between 3 to 8 mm.

Both plants will use robotic solutions for tool management and other phases of the cycles with automated control of tool sizes using 3D vision systems. The temperature of billets and extruded tubes at press exit will also be controlled and monitored with extrusion cycles taking place in less than 60 seconds, the company said.

Danieli will manufacture the equipment at its workshops and expects both plants to be commissioned in 2026.
