The companies said they upgraded the nominal 9 m radius caster with a 1,300 mm strand distance. The scope included new molds to produce 160 mm and 200 mm square sections, oscillators with Hy Power actuators, Danieli Rotelec mold and final stirrers, new withdrawal and straightening units, roller tables, and a discharge system. 

The caster resumed production with target output within a week of start-up. All three continuous casters at the site are now supplied by Danieli.
