Danieli Receives Additional Order Tied to Sheet Mill Overhaul
06/04/2019 - Nucor Corp. has contracted Danieli to build a new emissions control system for its Gallatin sheet mill, a follow-on order arising from the steelmaker’s overhaul of the Kentucky facility.
In a statement, Danieli said the order consists of a twin reverse-air baghouse; five ID fans with variable-frequency drives; the ductwork and supporting structures; a pneumatic dust conveying system; and the electrical and automation systems, among other things.
“The (plant) will ensure compliance with local regulations, with a dust emission at stack of less than 4 mg/Nm3 and reduced emissions of CO and NOx as well,” Danieli said in a statement.
Nucor last year contracted Danieli to overhaul the facility. The project will bring about a new electric furnace and caster and improvement to the rolling mill.
