Danieli Receives Order for New Spooler Line From Sovel
10/23/2025 - nieli has received an order from Sovel, part of the Sidenor Group, for a new K-Spool line to be installed at its Almyros micro-mill in Greece.
The new equipment will replace the existing spooler line to produce compact, twist-free rebars-in-coil up to 8 metric tons in diameters between 8 and 25 mm.
The supply includes two spoolers and various upstream equipment including pinch rolls, loopers and laying devices, and a new cropping shear. They will also provide a downstream coil handling system featuring Sund Birsta automatic strapping machines and discharging stations, the company said.
The new line will be integrated into the MIDA endless casting and rolling mill. It was recently upgraded with a high-speed Danieli Octocaster and will be supported by the patented Danieli Automation Q-VID technology.
Sovel said the investment will increase coil weight capacity, improve production efficiency, and reduce handling and transformation costs for its rebar products.
Danieli said it is the third 8-metric-ton K-Spool® has been awarded and the first and only in the Greek and Balkan region.
