Danieli Selected to Supply Rolling Mill Upgrade for Pittini
01/07/2026 - Danieli announced that Pittini Group has selected it to modernize the rolling mill at the SiderPotenza plant in Potenza, Italy.
The companies said the update will include a new rolling mill with 20 SHS cartridge stands to enable billet sizes up to 165 mm. With this configuration, the plant will be prepared to install a spooler line to produce coils of 2.5 metric tons with room to add a horizontal billet welder in the future to produce coils up to 5 metric tons.
The upgraded mill will feed into the existing bar line which supports products from 2 x 8 mm to 40 mm. It will also feed into the future spooler line for coils from 10 mm to 25 mm.
The companies said the project is planned to take place during a single shutdown of 45 days. Hot start-up is scheduled for 2027.
