Danieli-Supplied MIDA QLP Line Achieves Longest Uninterrupted Sequence at Jairaj Group’s Kurnool Plant
02/16/2026 - Danieli announced the MIDA QLP line it supplied to Jairaj Group’s Kurnool Plant in India has broken records by successfully completing the longest uninterrupted sequence.
The company said the milestone included a 27-hour uninterrupted casting and rolling sequence where it operated with a single tundish and 33 heats cast and rolled in endless mode. A 10,206 m billet was produced during the sequence with a maximum speed of 7.2 m/minute. The record was broken in January 2026.
The MIDA line was designed to produce 350,000 metric tons annually of rebar in bundles with diameters between 8 to 40 mm. Beginning in May 2025, the line showed steady and consistent improvement in operational stability and productivity, the company said.
Danieli said the installation was the first MIDA plant in India and included a blast furnace in the melting area, ladle furnace, casting a rolling technology, direct rolling and a bundling finishing facility.
