Danieli Technology Selected for Plate Mill Upgrade
06/04/2020 - Danieli has won a contract to upgrade a 4-high plate mill in Italy, the company has announced.
In a statement, Danieli said it will be making a number of automation and mechanical improvements to the Marcegaglia-owned plate mill, which is at its San Giorgio di Nogaro plant in Italy.
Danieli said the project includes installation of new hydraulic cylinders to support conventional electromechanical screw-down gears. It also will equip the mill with advanced gauge control and a HiPAC controller to easily integrate the existing controls with new technological functions.
“A new L2 process control system, including on-line mathematical model for pass schedule calculation, mill setup, and reports will enable process quality and repeatability. The modern server/client architecture will include latest-generation hardware, system and application software,” Danieli said.
