Danieli to Deliver New ERW Tube Line to Utva Silosi AD Kovin
04/13/2026 - Danieli announced it has been selected to supply a new electric-resistance welded (ERW) tube production line to Utva Silosi AD Kovin in Serbia.
The companies said the new ERW mill, made by Danieli Centro Tube, will produce tubes with diameters up to 50 mm with thicknesses up to 3 mm. They will produce structural tubes and high-precision products for automotive applications.
The line will operate at speeds over 160 m per minute, equipped with state-of-the-art automation systems. It will have continuous coil unwinding, a double-mandrel decoiler and strip joining. Tube welding will use a high-frequency welder and welding stand. Features also include an in-line nondestructive tube system, flying saw and a lance-type bundling system followed by an automatic strapping unit, the companies said.
The line will be able to produce square, rectangular and round sections due to downstream operations including sizing stands and Turks-head-type shaping and straightening units.
The companies said with the plant currently in the design phase, operations are scheduled to begin in the first half of 2027.
