Danieli to Deliver Rebar and Wire Rod Mill to GSM Tanzania
09/15/2026 - Danieli will supply a new rebar and wire rod mill to GSM Tanzania Ltd.’s facility in Kilimanjaro Industrial Park, Tanzania, the company announced.
The companies said the new mill will process 150 x 150 mm billets at a rate up to 50 metric tons hourly. It will produce deformed reinforcing bars from 8 to 32 mm and smooth wire rod between 5.5 to 6.5 mm. They estimate it will be able to produce 300,000 metric tons of rebar and wire rod annually.
The wire rod line will have an inline QTR system and a Danieli-patented oil-film bearing laying head with a cooling conveyor. The plant will be controlled by Danieli Automation systems, the companies said.
GSM said the project will strengthen its position in the regional steel market and support the country’s construction and infrastructure demand.
