Danieli to Supply SBQ Mill to Ramsarup Industries
05/22/2026 - Danieli announced it has been selected by Ramsarup Industries Ltd., a subsidiary of Shyam Metallics & Energy Ltd., to supply a new special bar quality (SBQ) combination mill for its facility at Kharagpur Works, West Bengal, India.
Danieli said the new mill will have its Morgårdshammar SBQ technology, with a production capacity of about 600,000 metric tons of long products annually. It can process special steel smooth and deforms rounds in coil form, with diameters between 5.5 and 25 mm.
The machine can reach rolling speeds up to 110 m per second and bar-in-coil from 16 to 45 mm. The mill will also produce bars in straight lengths from 8 to 40 mm diameter at speeds up to 45 m per second.
All operations will be managed through Danieli Automation. The supply will include engineering, technological equipment and advisory, the companies said.
The companies said start-up is scheduled for early 2027.
