OSF Sunflag Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. recently awarded Danieli Morgårdshammar an order for a high-speed special steel wire rod line. The line will be added to the company’s existing 200,000 tonnes per year rolling mill in Nagpur, India.

Danieli’s scope of supply includes a 10-pass Delta type finishing block, water cooling line, laying head, and controlled-cooling conveyor suitable for forced or retarded cooling of wire rod loops.

The mill will produce from 5.5- to 15.6-mm diameter wire rod in coils weighing up to 1100 kg, rolled at maximum finishing speeds of up to 90 mps. Grades will include carbon, alloy, free cutting, ball bearing and spring grades.

Startup of the new line is scheduled in summer 2005.
