Danieli to Upgrade Megasa’s Rolling Mill
10/20/2026 - Danieli announced it will upgrade Spanish steelmaker Megasa Siderúrgica’s bar, spooler and wire rod rolling mill at Siderúrgica Nacional in Seixal, Portugal.
The companies said the project includes installation of a Q-HEAT® system with three induction coils, bringing the total installed power to 6 MW. The intermediate mill area will be rearranged and upgraded for simpler roll pass design, streamlined production process, optimized layout and enhanced operational safety. Danieli will also supply four new cantilever ESS rolling stands.
Danieli Automation will contribute a new level 2 process control system to improve material tracking throughout the production route.
Start-up is scheduled for the third quarter of 2027, the companies said.
