The companies said the mill will be upgraded to support new billet formats including 180-mm squares and 205-mm rounds. It will also allow for future expansion up to 230 mm for round formats. 

Danieli said it will provide engineering, supply, installation and commissioning. Danieli Centro Combustion will upgrade the reheating furnace to support square and round formats, bring a new kick-in machine, replace internal riders and upgrade level 2 automation. 

Danieli Morgårdshammar will supply a side-shiftable high-pressure descaler, a stiffer billet pinch roll and two rolling stands. 

The companies said the upgrades will take place over two shutdowns. Operations are expected to begin by early 2027.
