Danieli Upgrades 3-Strand Billet Caster for JSW Salem
02/02/2026 - Danieli announced it has modernized a 3-strand billet caster for JSW Salem, part of JSW Steel Group, at Salem works, India.
Danieli said the project will replace the original equipment supplied by another provider in 1989. The scope included integration of technology package including the Hy-Power Hydraulic Oscillator and mould and final electromagnetic stirrers. The caster has a 9 m radius and ladle sequence car configuration.
The commissioning was completed in 43 days during a 45-day shutdown. With the upgrade, all three continuous casters in operation as JSW Salem are now supplied by Danieli.
