Danieli Wins Order for CMC Rebar Mill
03/09/2023 - Danieli will equip Commercial Metals Company’s planned rebar mill in Berkeley County, W.Va., USA, the plant builder has said.
According to Danieli, the micro-mill will have the capacity to annually produce 500,000 tons of straight-length and spooled rebar.
The mill will feature a Danieli Digimelter furnace with endless scrap charging system; Q-One power feeders that will enable future use of renewably generated electricity; and a single-strand Octocaster.
The rolling mill will feature cantilever and housingless stands that will roll endless billets into straight bars.
“A K-Spool line incorporating a four-pass finishing block will provide torsion-free deformed bars in coils up to 5 tons, continuously,” Danieli said.
The mill is scheduled to enter service in late 2025.
Danieli said the mill represents its 25th order for its endless casting and rolling technology worldwide.
