The company said the furnace is running stably and efficiently. The Tornado preheating system features a variable-geometry preheating zone to automatically adjust and adapt the free cross-section of the conveyor. This allows for optimal conditions for fume speed, temperature and process control. 

With the Tornado system, the company can use various scrap types available from the market with excellent preheating results, creating purchase flexibility. It allows for optimal operational results while minimizing CO2 and NOx emissions and offering short payback time. 

The company estimates there will be energy savings of 70 kilowatt-hours per metric ton.
