Erdemir Announces US$3.2B Decarbonization Investment

01/11/2024 - Turkish steelmaker Erdemir said it will invest US$3.2 billion to reduce its emissions by 25% over the next seven years.

According to the Reuters news service, Erdemir’s plan includes installation of electric arc furnaces, greater use of natural gas, and a reduction in coal consumption by substituting with biomass.
