Fives Supplies Enhanced Straightening Solutions to Two Companies
07/22/2025 - Fives supplied a fully automatic Bronx straightener for high-yield seamless tubes to a customer in the United Arab Emirates and commissioned a section straightener for a customer in the shipbuilding industry in Canada.
The United Arab Emirates customer is preparing to scale up production at its newly established tube mill. The machine, designed for the oil and gas sector, handles stainless steel tubes ranging from 3.5- to 11.2-inch diameters with thicknesses up to 1.5 inches. The machine replaces manual straightening methods for improvements in operator safety, production efficiency and accuracy, the company said.
The Canadian customer received its first-ever straightening machine, designed to process bulb flats and flat sections ranging from 2.4 to 8.7 inches. The company said the machine has offered a new level of quality, consistency and reliability since it was commissioned.
