Fives to Upgrade Jindal Steel’s Reheating Furnace Controls
07/27/2026 - Fives announced it has been selected to upgrade the control systems of two reheating furnaces at Jindal Steel’s Patratu plant in Balkudra, India.
The companies said the project will include upgrading the level 1 control systems of two Stein Digit@l Furnace® technologies supplied by Fives. They have an estimated capacity of 160 and 200 metric tons annually.
Features will include latest generation software and control system upgrades, modernized PLC hardware and operating platforms, a high-speed communication network, new engineering and operator stations, multiple fuel options, and improvements to material-handling operations.
