Florida County Approves Tax Abatement for US$227 Million Nucor Project
02/08/2018 - Nucor Corp. has been awarded a local property tax exemption for a US$227 million project, according to The (Lakeland, Fla.) Ledger.
According to The Ledger, the exemption, which applies to a site in central Florida’s Polk County, is worth more than US$13 million over 10 years, beginning in 2021.
American Metal Market reported that Nucor is considering that site and others for a second rebar micro-mill. Nucor announced last year that it was considering building a second micro-mill somewhere in the southeastern U.S.
