Former U.S. Steel Exec Joins Tube City IMS Board
10/10/2008 - Tube City IMS announces the election of John J. Connelly, a former Senior Vice President for United States Steel, to the company’s Board of Directors.
Tube City IMS, LLC announced the election of John J. Connelly, a former Senior Vice President for United States Steel Corp., to the company’s Board of Directors.
“We are excited and pleased that John has agreed to join our Board of Directors,” said I Michael Coslov, Chairman and CEO of Tube City IMS. “John has a tremendous wealth of experience in the steel industry, both domestically and internationally, and will add great value to our Board and to our Company.”
Connelly, 61, retired as retired as Senior Vice President—Strategic Planning and Business Development for United States Steel Corp. in February 2008. He began his career in the commercial department at U.S. Steel International in New York as a management trainee in 1971, progressing to the position of President before being promoted in 2002 to assume company-wide responsibilities for Strategic Planning and Business Development. Over the years, Connelly also served in various management positions in U.S. Steel’s commercial, marketing and tubular products groups.
Connelly earned a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in African Affairs from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.
