Galperti Turns to Danieli for VIM and ESR Furnaces
05/06/2026 - Danieli announced it has received an order from Galperti Special Alloys S.p.A. for engineering and supply of an 8-metric-ton vacuum induction melting (VIM) furnace and a 10-metric-ton electroslag remelting (ESR) furnace for installation in Italy.
The company said the VIM furnace will have controlled melting under vacuum for precise management of chemical composition and steel cleanliness. The ESR furnace will improve inclusion control, segregation behavior and material homogeneity.
The scope of supply includes engineering, manufacturing, preassembly and testing of the equipment at Danieli workshops in addition to installation and commissioning.
The companies said start-up is scheduled for the second half of 2026.
