Gerdau Cosigua Completes Factory Acceptance Tests
02/01/2022 - In a press release, AIC announced that factory acceptance tests were completed at the end of 2021 for the modernization of finishing block technology on Gerdau Cosigua’s Rod Mill #2 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
According to AIC, tests were conducted with multidrives ABB ACS880, followed by tests with renewed AC motors.
The goal of the project was to replace out-of-date equipment and upgrade drives and motors. The new configuration will allow for greater flexibility, power control and synchronized drive-to-drive communication.
Equipment commissioning will be carried out in coming weeks.
