Gov. Stein: US Forged Rings Will Open Production Facility in North Carolina As Part of US$875 Million Investment
02/27/2026 - North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein announced specialty steel products manufacturer US Forged Rings Inc. has planned a three-phase project with a total investment of US$875 million, beginning with building a production facility in Hertford County, N.C., USA.
“This investment into the first two phases of our Hertford County, N.C., facility will bring good-paying jobs back to America, substitute imports, lower dependency on foreign suppliers, increase the resilience of the U.S. economy, and help lower uncertainty in the costs and timing of building power plants and other critical infrastructure that the country very much needs,” said Giacomo Sozzi, US Forged Rings’ chief executive officer and president.
A privately owned business and part of the Sozzi family’s group of companies, US Forged Rings offers products including critical service fabrications, specialty tubulars and forgings, and industrial components such as rings, shafts, and cylinders for various industries. It has a supply chain partnership with Nucor, with the new site planned to be adjacent to Nucor Steel’s Herford County steel processing facility.
The company said the first two phases of the project will create about 625 new jobs.
