Representing the second compact-sized pellet plant Metso has delivered to India recently, the plant is based on a 3-m-wide indurating machine. The companies estimate the plant will have a capacity of 1.2 million metric tons annually. 

“We are proud to see the confidence Greta has placed in our Compact-sized Pellet Plants, designed specifically keeping in mind the evolving needs of emerging players in India and China’s dynamic steel markets,” said Matthias Gabriel, director of ferrous technologies at Metso.

The delivery includes engineering and design of the plant, the supply of proprietary equipment, instrumentation and control systems, Metso said. 

“This project represents a first-of-its-kind installation in India at this scale and with this technology. It also sets an important benchmark for smaller-scale pellet plants that will play a crucial role in shaping the future of India’s steelmaking landscape across diverse regions,” said Nitesh Chaudhari, group chairman at Greta Energy Ltd.
