Hankum Expands Hicon/H2 Bell Annealer Facility

Hankum Co., Ltd./Pohang, Korea, has ordered a new Hicon/H2® technology facility from Ebner Industrieofenbau, Austria.
The new facility is designed to anneal hot-rolled carbon and stainless steel strip coils as well as cold rolled strip coils. Four of the eight new Hicon/H2 workbases are designed specifically to process hot-rolled strip. The new facility also includes four high-temperature heating bells, four combined air/water cooling bells plus the complete power and control equipment with central operating system.
The new plant can process coils with an outside diameter up to 1,800 mm and weighing up to 90 tonnes with a charge stack up to 5,200 mm high.
Hankum Co., Ltd. has previously ordered two facilities from Ebner Industrieofenbau, Austria, in the past, both for processing cold-rolled strip coils (nine Hicon/H2 bases for carbon steels and three Hicon/H2-bases for stainless).
The new facility will start production in November 2005.
