Hebei Jinxi Selects Primetals Technologies to Deliver Two Continuous Slab Casters
11/18/2025 - Chinese steel producer Hebei Jinxi Iron and Steel Group has selected Primetals Technologies to supply two continuous slab casters for its plant in Tangshan, China.
Both casters will have advanced casting solutions including the LevCon system, Mold Expert system, the DynaWidth mold-width adjustment system, straight cassette-type smart mold, and DynaGap 3D roll-gap control system with smart segments and I-Start rollers.
Each of the machines will have a capacity of about 2.5 million metric tons annually. The company said the order also includes a digitalization package including level 1 and level 2 automation systems for state-of-the-art process control and optimization.
Hebei Jinxi said it selected Primetals Technologies due to its slab caster technology, market presence and proven references for 230 mm casting thickness. It also has ordered from them before: a beam-blank caster which has been in operation since 2006.
The companies said start-up is scheduled for the end of 2026.
