Hertwich Engineering Supplies Continuous Homogenizing Lines in India

Hertwich Engineering has supplied two continuous homogenizing and sawing lines to Vedanta Aluminium in Orissa, India. The lines are intended for Phase II of the Jharsuguda expansion project and will be used there for homogenizing, sawing, and packing the extrusion billets produced.
 
The order comprises three continuous homogenizing units, two ultrasonic inspection stations, as well as two long and short billet saws and packing stations. The scope of supply includes all the roller tables, log handling equipment, and the control and automation technology.
 
Hertwich is also responsible for the erection supervision and commissioning.
 
The whole plant is designed for an annual production of 384,000 tonnes of round billets with diameters from 152 to 229 mm.
 
Site installation was started in April 2010 and start of operation is scheduled for the end of 2010.
