HWI Celebrates Opening of Its Lightweight Monolithics Facility

The company said the facility was built at its rotary kiln complex with access to local clay reserves. Features include a furnace system for GREENLITE® aggregate production, robotic automation for packaging and material handling, and upgraded packaging options. It will allow HWI to have shorter lead times and flexibility for new business opportunities and larger-scale projects.

“Demand for these high-performance, energy-saving lightweight refractories continues to grow rapidly while global supply chains remain under pressure. This added capacity strengthens availability and ensures we reliably support customers’ operations, growth, and sustainability goals,” said Michel Cornelissen, president and chief executive officer of Calderys Group.

Products on offer include the GREENLITE®-45-L family of monolithics and GREENLITE® 115 AR brick. These provide insulation and high strength-to-density ratios to minimize heat loss, reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, extend campaign life and allow for longer service intervals, the company said.

“Our strategically located facilities and strong networks enable us to deliver greater efficiencies and responsiveness for customers throughout the region,” said Ross Wilkin, senior vice president of the Americas region for Calderys Group.
