Iraq Targets 2019 Start-Up for New Billet Plant
02/23/2018 - Danieli has won an order for an electric arc furnace and billet caster in Kurdistan, the company said Friday.
In a statement, the company said the steel plant, being built for the Iraqi Ministry of Industry, will be capable of producing 500,000 metric tons of billets annually.
The plant will include a 70-ton EAF, a 70-ton ladle furnace with associated lifting equipment, and a continuous billet caster with a 9-m radius. Danieli will provide the plant automation and will advise on installation and start-up, it said.
