Japan Bets on Winning Product Exclusions to U.S. Steel Tariffs
04/05/2018 - While certain U.S. allies negotiate potential countrywide exemptions to President Trump’s Section 232 steel tariffs, Japan is taking a different tack, reports the (London) Financial Times.
“The lack of retaliation threats from Japan, despite anger and frustration at the U.S. president’s decision to target a close ally, reflects confidence that many of the country’s steel exports can win product-by-product exemptions from the tariffs,” the newspaper reported.
