JFE Blast Furnace Forced Into Unscheduled Outage
09/12/2017 - Japan's JFE Steel is temporarily halting iron production at one of its blast furnaces to facilitate repairs on a converter, according to the Nikkei Asian Review.
According to the Review, a blast furnace at the company’s East Japan Works will be brought down as it tries to find the source of a problem in ancillary waste gas and dust collection systems on a converter.
The company is taking the step to keep its iron production in line with its capacity to convert it to steel.
