JFE Steel to Idle Some Plate Mills in Japan
02/18/2020 - Citing falling demand and slowing growth, JFE Steel has announced plans to idle parts of its plate-making operations in Japan, the Jiji Press news service reports.
"Both at home and abroad, we are considering a review needed to have a production system that is the most optimal for us, taking into account the current and future business environment," JFE executive vice president Masashi Terahata said during a press conference.
