JSW Steel Logs 5% Growth in Crude Steel for October
11/13/2008 - JSW Steel Limited posts 5% growth in crude steel production in October 2008 as compared to the corresponding period in 2007.
JSW Steel Limited posted 5% growth in crude steel production in October 2008 as compared to the corresponding period in 2007.
The company’s flat-rolled steel production was down 2% vs. the year-ago period, while long steel products production was up by 1% over the same period.
The company said that it is planning to rationalize its product mix from November 2008 based on the current market conditions. The company said it intends to modify its production program to effectively reduce total production by around 20%.
The company sad it will utilize this time of lower production levels for general maintenance of the facilities.
