JSW Steel USA Mingo Junction Rolls First Fully Degassed Slab
07/01/2026 - JSW Steel USA Mingo Junction announced that it has successfully rolled the first fully degassed slab on its new twin-tank vacuum degasser and rebuilt caster strand with dynamic soft reduction.
The caster can now run both 9- and 12-inch slabs. The process was completed with minimal downtime; the new equipment was integrated into a working mill. The company said it spent more than US$145 million on additional upgrades for the facility.
