KOCKS Rolling Equipment Enters Service at Two Mills
02/02/2021 - Two Chinese steelmakers have successfully commissioned KOCKS-built reducing and sizing blocks in their bar mills, the rolling specialist reports.
According to KOCKS, Shijiazhuang Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. has started a 600,000-metric-ton small bar mill that incorporates a 4-stand KOCKS reducing and sizing block. The mill can produce bars in diameters from 13 mm to 60 mm.
It features a size control system, which allows real-time adjustments of the operating parameters of the rolling block.
Also, Hunan Valin Xiangtan Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. has issued the final acceptance certificate for its new 3-roll reducing and sizing block. The special bar quality mill produces bar in diameters from 16 mm to 100 mm.
“Because of its very uniform deformation over the cross-section of the bar and the limited temperature increase due to the high deformation efficiency, the KOCKS 3-roll reducing and sizing block is ideally suited for thermomechanical rolling with a uniform fine grain size,” KOCKS said.
