Luxmet Oy Appoints New CEO
08/28/2026 - Luxmet Oy announced its board of directors has appointed Hannu Hautala as its chief executive officer (CEO), effective 1 September.
The company developed a patented optical emission spectroscopy solution for real-time process measurement and optimization in the steel and metals industry.
“The focus is now shifting to international sales growth. Hannu has extensive experience in leading international industrial businesses, deep knowledge of the steel industry, an extensive international network and a solid understanding of Luxmet’s technology,” said Mikko Nissinen, chairman of the board of Luxmet.
Hautala has served on the board and is familiar with its technology, customers and market. When he becomes CEO, he will step down from the board. The company’s current CEO is a founder and the largest shareholder, Mikko Jokinen. He is preparing for retirement and will continue as chief technology officer during the transition.
“After a long international career in industry, I am highly motivated to help steel companies improve productivity and reduce CO₂ emissions. I know Luxmet’s technology and the market well. I see strong potential in Luxmet, and our key priority now is to drive global sales growth,” said Hautala.
