Maanshan Iron & Steel Taps Danieli for Continuous Caster
09/28/2026 - Danieli announced it will supply a new continuous casting machine to Maanshan Iron & Steel’s facility in Maanshan, China.
Danieli said the scope includes a new billet continuous caster for rounds ranging from 150 to 380 mm. It will produce special steels including alloyed grades for seamless tube production.
The caster will have Danieli Automation level 1 and 2 systems including the Danieli Liquid Pool Control solidification model. Other features include dynamic secondary-cooling water control, dynamic load distribution, and electromagnetic mold stirring, strand and final stirring control, the companies said.
The key components for the project will be manufactured, assembled and tested at Danieli’s facilities in China.
This project marks 25 years of partnership between the companies.
